Arrest and Transfer of Freydon Nabi to Naqadeh Prison for Sentence Execution

Hana: On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Freydon Nabi, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested to serve his prison sentence and transferred to Naqadeh Prison.

Previously, Freydon Nabi had been sentenced by Branch 2 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Amir Ojaghloo, to:
• 43 months of imprisonment on charges of “assembly and collusion against national security,”
• 35 months of imprisonment for “membership in one of the opposition parties to the Iranian government,”
• 8 months of imprisonment for “propaganda against the regime.”

Additionally, he was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court 2 of Piranshahr, presided over by Judge Reza Ghahremani Sa’atloo, to:
• 6 months of imprisonment and a fine of 25 million rials for “carrying illegal weapons and throwing Molotov cocktails.”

Mr. Nabi was initially arrested on October 28, 2022, by security forces at his family home in Piranshahr without a judicial warrant. He was transferred to a security detention center in Orumiyeh for interrogation. After the completion of the interrogation process, he was moved to Naqadeh Prison.

Freydon Nabi was ultimately released on bail from Naqadeh Prison on May 9, 2023.
