According to reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization, today, Saturday, March 15, 2025, Mohammad Daniali, a cultural and civil activist and a member of the “Banar” Mountaineering Group in Abdanan, was arrested and transferred to Ilam Central Prison to serve his prison sentence.

According to received reports, Daniali had previously been sentenced by the Dehloran Court to two years of imprisonment on charges of “assembly and collusion against national security” and “committing social offenses,” with his previous detention period counted toward his sentence.

It is worth noting that Mohammad Daniali was first arrested on May 14, 2023, in Dehloran by security forces. After being held for 60 days, he was temporarily released from Ilam Central Prison on a bail of 5 billion tomans.

During his detention, Daniali went on a hunger strike at least twice in protest against mistreatment, having his head forcibly shaved, and the authorities’ failure to process his case.
