Amjad Garyakhiz a labor rights activist has been sentenced to six months of custodial imprisonment and an additional two years of suspended prison term

According to received reports, Amjad Garyakhiz, a labor rights activist from Sanandaj, has been sentenced by Branch One of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court to six months of custodial imprisonment and two years of suspended imprisonment on charges of “propaganda against the state” and “inciting shopkeepers to strike.”

According to Hana’s sources, the verdict was formally issued to him on June 7, 2025.

Previously, on January 22, 2025, Amjad Garyakhiz was arrested in Sanandaj by security forces during a public strike against executions. He was later released on bail from the city’s prison on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
