According to reports received by the HANA Human Rights Organization, more than 20 days have passed since the detention of a Kurdish citizen named Peyman Rahmani, from Kamyaran, yet his whereabouts remain unknown.
An informed source told HANA that Mr. Rahmani was arrested on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, by security forces at his private residence without any judicial documents.
The source added that Peyman Rahmani, a few days after the public protests on 8 January 2026 in Kamyaran, was injured by shotgun fire from the Islamic Republic’s security forces. Despite his injuries, he was arrested without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location. Since then, no information has been available regarding his place of detention or physical condition.
The source also noted that Mr. Rahmani was only able to inform his family of his detention via a brief phone call in the initial days of his arrest. Since then, the family’s repeated attempts to obtain information from security and judicial authorities have been unsuccessful.
It should be noted that the continuation of this situation constitutes enforced disappearance and raises serious concerns about the possibility of torture, ill-treatment, and grave violations of the human rights of this citizen.
