According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a citizen identified as Alireza Panahi, 25 years old, Kurdish by origin and a resident of Zibashahr in Qarchak, lost his life during the popular protests in the city.
According to an informed source, Alireza Panahi was shot from behind with live ammunition by repressive forces near the Grand Mosque of Qarchak (Police Square). After being transferred to 15 Khordad Hospital in Varamin, despite his critical physical condition, he was denied medical treatment and, while still showing signs of life, was removed from the hospital by security forces.
The source further stated that security forces, who had been deployed inside the hospital, detained Alireza Panahi and transferred him to Kahrizak detention center.
It should be noted that following his death, the family of this Kurdish citizen has been placed under pressure by security institutions and has been prevented from holding any funeral or burial ceremony.
