According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, 14 February 2026, a citizen identified as Ali Balaei, from Eslamabad-e Gharb and the brother of Shirzad Balaei, one of those killed during the January 2026 protests, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Based on the information received, Mr. Balaei’s arrest was carried out by security forces without the presentation of any judicial warrant.
It should be noted that, as of the time of publication of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges brought against this Kurdish citizen.
