The Judiciary’s Media Center has announced the execution of Aghil Keshavarz on charges of “espionage for Israel,” carried out in the early hours of Saturday, 20 December 2025.

According to the information received, the prisoner had previously been sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges of espionage in favor of Israel and filming military sites.

Based on this report, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, he was transferred to solitary confinement in Orumiyeh Central Prison for the implementation of the death sentence. His family held their final visit with him on Friday, 19 December 2025.

It should be noted that Aghil Keshavarz, originally from Isfahan and a student of architecture at Shahroud University, was arrested by security forces in May 2025 while traveling to Orumiyeh.

After the completion of interrogation procedures, he was transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison and, in late summer 2025, was sentenced to death by Branch One of the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Sajad Dousti, on charges of espionage in favor of Israel. The verdict was subsequently upheld in full by Iran’s Supreme Court.
