Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, a worker identified as Behzad Karimi, 33 years old, from Payagalan village, a district of Marivan County, lost his life following the explosion of a trailer tire.
According to received information, the incident occurred while he was at work at an auto repair unit near the Kolan intersection in Marivan. The force of the explosion caused his immediate death.
It is worth noting that in recent years, due to the lack of workplace safety and employers’ negligence regarding protection and safety standards, the number of work-related accidents in Kurdistan and other parts of Iran has been on the rise. Under international human rights and labor conventions and standards, governments are obligated to ensure the health and safety of workers in the workplace.
