According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, a worker from the city of Bukan in West Azerbaijan Province, identified as Seyed Taher Dadvar, lost his life following the fall of a forklift at a polyethylene pipe factory located in the Bukan Industrial Zone.
According to the same report, Mr. Dadvar was only 20 days away from his retirement.
On the same day, another worker, identified as Mohsen Kakerashi, also lost his life after falling from an overhead crane in another workshop within the Bukan Industrial Zone.
It is worth noting that in recent years, due to the lack of workplace safety measures and employers’ negligence toward health and safety regulations, the number of workplace accidents in Kurdistan and other parts of Iran has significantly increased. Based on international human rights and labor standards, governments are obligated to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for all workers.
