According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, a worker identified as Ghasem Qaderzadeh, from the village of Dehbakr in Mahabad County, West Azerbaijan Province, lost his life while working in the village due to a lack of facilities and workplace safety, when the wall of a well collapsed.
Ghasem Qaderzadeh, son of Ahmad, was married and had one child.
It should be noted that in recent years, due to inadequate workplace safety and employers’ neglect of occupational health and safety standards, the number of work-related accidents in Kurdistan and other parts of Iran has been steadily increasing.
According to international human rights and labor standards, governments are obligated to ensure the health and safety of workers in their workplaces.
