Hana has learned that #Vrishe_Moradi, a Kurdish female political prisoner, has been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.
According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, Vrishe Moradi, a Kurdish political prisoner and member of the "Free Women's Society of East Kurdistan (KJR)," was sentenced to death by Branch 15 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, on charges of "baghy" (rebellion). Her death sentence was officially communicated to her lawyers today, Sunday, November 11, 2024.
The court sessions for her case were held on June 17 and October 6, 2024, at Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
It is important to note that Ms. Moradi was arrested by security forces on July 31, 2023, and transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center for interrogation. Afterward, she was moved to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
