A Kurdish civilian was killed by direct gunfire from forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and three other citizens were arrested in Baneh

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Arman Khaleghpanah, from Saqqez, lost his life after being directly shot by forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps near Baneh. Three other citizens were also arrested.

According to an informed source, IRGC forces surrounded a private vehicle on the outskirts of Baneh and opened direct fire on it. As a result, Arman Khaleghpanah, the driver of the vehicle, was killed. At the same time, the three other passengers—Abdollah Mahjour, a former political prisoner, Sheikh Zahid Shahabi, and Salar Azar, all from Saqqez—were violently arrested by IRGC forces and transferred to an unknown location.

The source also stated that Arman Khaleghpanah’s body has not yet been handed over to his family. It should also be noted that since their arrest, no information has been available regarding the place of detention or the physical condition of these three detained citizens.
