According to information received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Friday, 6 February 2026, Nima Jafari, a 22-year-old Kurdish citizen from the village of Sartang, a suburb of Eivan (Eivan-e Gharb) in illam Province, who had been arrested by security forces in the city of Bandar Abbas during the past week, lost his life as a result of torture and violent treatment while in detention.
According to informed sources, security institutions exerted pressure on the family of this citizen and forced them to announce the cause of his death as “suicide.”
It should be noted that Nima Jafari’s body was buried today, Friday, 13 February 2026, in the city of Eivan.
