87 days of arbitrary detention for Chiako Rezaei despite a bail set at 1 billion tomans

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, more than 87 days have passed since the arbitrary arrest and illegal detention of Chiako Rezaei, an athlete from Sanandaj. Despite a bail set at 1 billion tomans, he has not been released, and no information is available regarding his condition or place of detention, causing serious concern for his family and close associates.

A well-informed source, speaking to the Hana Human Rights Organization, stated that Rezaei’s family has had no news of his situation or whereabouts since his arrest. Despite repeated inquiries to security and judicial authorities regarding his fate, their requests have been ignored, and officials have remained completely silent.

The source further added that Rezaei’s detention order had been extended until 1 December 2025. This period has now expired, yet he remains in detention, with no information about his condition.

It should be noted that Chiako Rezaei was arrested on 5 September 2025 without any judicial documentation by security forces and was transferred to an undisclosed location.
