According to information received by HANA Human Rights Organization, Mostafa Alipour, a 32-year-old citizen from Bojnurd arrested during the January 2026 protests, has been sentenced in two separate cases by Bojnurd’s revolutionary and criminal courts to a combined 4 years, 2 months, and 1 day in ta’zir imprisonment, along with 74 lashes.
Branch One of the Bojnurd Revolutionary Court sentenced him to 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day on charges of “propaganda against the state” and “assembly and collusion against national security,” while Branch 104 of the Criminal Court sentenced him separately to 8 months and 74 lashes on a charge of “disrupting public order and security,” according to information received by HANA. His case was heard in a single short online session, with no access to a lawyer of his choosing.
Alipour was wounded by more than 100 pellets fired at him during the protests of January 8, 2026, and was arrested by security forces a month later. He was released on bail after more than a month in detention.
