According to reports received by HANA Human Rights Organization, on Sunday, June 7, 2025, Heman Rostami, a construction worker from Baneh, lost his life following a soil collapse at an excavation site for a residential building in the city.
According to the reports, the worker suffered severe injuries after being buried under falling soil at the worksite and was transferred to a medical center. However, in the early hours of this morning, he succumbed to his injuries.
Workplace accidents remain one of the leading causes of death and injury among workers in Iran, particularly in Kurdistan incidents that, in many cases, occur due to the absence of safety standards, inadequate oversight, and a lack of proper protective equipment.
