illam Citizen Sentenced to Prison and Exile Following Protest Arrest

The Hana Human Rights Organization reports that Amin Zohrabi, a 30-year-old resident of Armu village in Darreh Shahr county, illam province, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to five months in prison, to be followed by internal exile under the guise of mandatory military service.
According to received reports, Zohrabi was wounded during public protests before being arrested by security forces on the evening of Friday, January 2, 2026. He is currently serving his five-month term in illam Prison.

Under the terms of the judicial ruling, upon completing his prison sentence, Zohrabi must be transferred to Taybad in Razavi Khorasan province a remote border region to fulfill his unfinished mandatory military service, effectively serving as a form of internal exile.
