Two Kurdish Cultural Activist Brothers Killed in Armed IRGC Raid in Dalahu

Two brothers who were prominent Kurdish cultural activists were killed in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026, when Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces surrounded and opened fire on their safe house in the village of Qaleh Kahoush, Dalahu County.

The Hana Human Rights Organization reports that the operation took place around 4:00 AM. Military forces reportedly launched a heavy armed assault on the residence of Meysam and Mojtaba Veisi without any prior warning, killing both brothers.

The whereabouts of one of their companions, Farshad Hatamipour, remain unknown following the attack. No information regarding his safety, physical condition, or potential detention has been made available.

Meysam and Mojtaba Veisi, followers of the Yarsan faith, were well-known cultural figures in Kermanshah. The brothers were co-founders of the Dareh-Derizh neighborhood library and regularly helped organize the local Kurdish Nowruz celebrations.
