In continuation of the widespread wave of arrests in Mahabad, two more citizens from the city have been detained by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Friday, 20 March 2026, two Kurdish citizens—Jalal Alavi from Kouseh Kahriz village, a suburb of Mahabad, and Vahab Hosseinzadeh from Mahabad—were arrested by security forces.
According to received reports, the arrests were carried out without the presentation of judicial documents.
