The Hana Human Rights Organization has reported that on Sunday, January 11, 2026, Behzad Ghavami, a teacher and member of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Trade Association from Sanandaj County, was arrested by security forces in the city and transferred to an unknown location.
According to an informed source, Mr. Ghavami’s arrest was carried out through a raid on his home without presenting any judicial warrant. The source further stated that, since the time of his arrest, there has been no information available regarding the reasons for his detention, his place of custody, or the charges against him.
It should be noted that Behzad Ghavami is a member of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Trade Association and has previously been summoned and detained multiple times by security authorities.
