The Hana Human Rights Organization has learned that on Thursday, January 8, 2026, a 27-year-old Kurdish citizen identified as Ali Gerdakaneh, from Kangavar, lost his life during the popular protests in Azadi Square of the city as a result of direct gunfire by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Hana’s sources, his body was buried on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in the village of Gerdakaneh.
