Based on reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, a Kurdish citizen identified as Meysam Karani, from Kermanshah, was killed after being directly shot by the repressive forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during popular protests on Taq-e Bostan Boulevard.
According to Hana’s sources, Meysam Karani had held his engagement ceremony four days prior to his death.
