Based on received reports, in recent days a Kurdish citizen identified as Omid Rash, from the Kuseh-Kahriz Viilage in Mahabad county, has been sentenced by Branch 1 of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court to six months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” The verdict has also been officially communicated to him.
It is worth noting that on the morning of Saturday, June 21, 2025, Omid Rash was arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Center in Mahabad for interrogation. After the interrogation process, he was moved to Mahabad Prison and eventually released temporarily after 33 days of pretrial detention upon posting a bail of 1.5 billion tomans.
