Execution of Sajjad Habibi in Dizelabad Prison, Kermanshah

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, August 8, 2025, the death sentence of a prisoner identified as Sajjad Habibi, a resident of Ilam, was carried out in Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah.

This prisoner had been arrested six years ago on charges related to “drug offenses” and was sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Over the past two months—particularly since the start of the Iran–Israel war—28 people have been executed in Iran’s Kurdish provinces. Last month, the Hana Human Rights Organization warned of a new wave of repression and executions in Iran and called on international organizations and institutions to intervene and pressure the Islamic Republic to halt mass executions. Concerns in this regard remain ongoing.
