According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, Ebrahim Janehfard — a Kurdish citizen from the village of Rahim Khan in Bukan and a former political prisoner — was arrested by security forces and transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Department in Orumiyeh.
According to a well-informed source, the security forces raided Mr. Janehfard’s home without presenting a judicial warrant, arrested him, and confiscated his mobile phone.
Ebrahim Janehfard had previously been arrested by security agencies upon returning to Iran due to his alleged membership in one of the Kurdish political parties. He was sentenced by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to four years of discretionary imprisonment.
