Arrest of at Least Five Kurdish Citizens in Naqadeh by Security Forces

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, a Kurdish citizen identified as Saman Kakemami, a resident of Naqadeh, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

Additionally, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, four other citizens—Amin Bashouki, Kaveh Ghaderi, Rahman KhalKhani, and Farhad Karimi, all from Naqadeh—were also arrested by security forces without a judicial warrant and transferred to an unknown location.

According to Hana’s sources, during the arrests, security forces confiscated the detainees’ personal belongings, including mobile phones and laptops, and took them away.

It is worth noting that over the past three days, at least six Kurdish citizens have been arrested in Naqadeh by security forces for unknown reasons, and their whereabouts and conditions remain unknown.

The Hana Human Rights Organization expresses its deep concern over the continued arbitrary arrests of Kurdish citizens and calls for clarification of the legal status and whereabouts of the detainees. The organization urges security and judicial authorities to adhere to human rights principles and the country’s domestic laws.
