According to information received by Hana, Dayeh Mina Soltani, the mother of Shahriar Mohammadi, one of the victims of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and a member of the justice-seeking mothers, has been sentenced by Branch Two of the Criminal Court of Bukan to eight months in prison and a one-million-toman fine. This verdict was issued verbally to Dayeh Mina without the presence or official notification of her lawyer.
It is worth noting that Dayeh Mina was previously arrested by security forces at her home in September 2024 and, after 21 days of interrogation under pressure, was released on bail.
The charges against her include “propaganda against the regime” and “appearing in public without mandatory hijab”.
Hana Human Rights Organization emphasizes that none of the minimum rights of a defendant in a criminal proceeding were upheld in Dayeh Mina’s case. Judicial officials, including investigators and the trial court, merely acted as enforcers of the interrogation team’s and security authorities’ directives.
Hana condemns this unjust ruling, considering it solely a security apparatus tactic aimed at intimidating justice-seeking families. The pursuit of justice is not a crime; on the contrary, according to Chapter Three of the Iranian Constitution, known as “The Rights of the Nation”, it is a fundamental right of every citizen.
