According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the execution of a Kurdish prisoner identified as Alireza Basati-Nia, a 23-year-old from Ilam residing in Tehran, was carried out in Qezel Hesar Prison, Karaj.
According to Hana’s sources, Alireza Basati-Nia was arrested about three years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On Monday, February 24, 2025, Hana Human Rights Organization had reported that this prisoner, along with two other death row inmates, had been transferred to solitary confinement in Qezel Hesar Prison in preparation for execution.
